Steve Rocha in the Morning!

Born in Sunnyside, raised in Toppenish (go Cats!). I come from a HUGE family, as both my parents each had 11 other siblings. My mom’s family are all mainly from here, so the joke in our family is “ask before you date someone, you just might be related to that person!!” haha!!

I grew up in the country, where there wasn’t really much to do except ride bikes, play in the hop fields and play basketball in the backyard. But I always had this obsession with music and radio stations for some reason. One day in my senior year in high school, I was scheduled to take an electrician class at the YV Skills Center, but I walked past this radio class that I didn’t know existed. The instructor asked me where I was supposed to be, and then said “take a seat, i’ll take care of that for you”. And just like that I was part of that radio class! By 1993 I was working at a local radio station at the age of 20 and I’ve now been doing radio for 32 years!

I am available to DJ private parties! From weddings, to birthday and graduation parties, I can handle the music duties at a reasonable price! (shameless plug). Other than that, I LOVE to watch boxing, and I’m a Raiders fan (not a lot of Hawk fans around here are too thrilled about that).

We live in hop country, so I do have a love for local beers! So you will catch my wife and I at certain locations on a weekend enjoying a beer accompanied by our Shi-poo Ramona. She LOVES people and loves the attention! Other than that, we have a HUGE family that seems to be growing every year, so to have our “brady bunch” and their significant others along with our grandbabies over at any given weekend has been a blessing!
