Meet Brian

Brian Stephenson is a native of Washington State, born and raised in the Wenatchee Valley and along with his wife and three children, arrived in Yakima back in 1995. Brian's career in Broadcasting and Advertising spans some 28 years -with experience in  Radio Station Ownership and Management -- as an air personality in formats ranging from NewsTalk to Country to Rock n Roll Oldies -- Television, Radio, Print and Outdoor Advertising Consulting and award-winning TV & Radio Commercial Production.

*Currently, Brian is host of the popular new "The Morning Show with Brian & Dorothy" on Talk 980 K-USA, along with longtime friend and co-host Dorothy Michaels, weekday mornings from 6 to 9. A determined traditionalist and fiercely independent, Brian is as quick with an opinion and he is with a bad pun (sometimes it's hard to distinguish between to two).

Brian is a devoted Husband, Dad and Grandfather -- he's involved in community theatre -- serves as Vice President on the board of The Humane Society of Central Washington -- serves as Vice Chair on the Parish Council of Holy Cross Orthodox Church, Yakima -- He enjoys Golf, Fishing and Micro Brews -- and he hopes to lose that last 60 pounds before he loses the rest of his hair!

Air shift: 2:00PM - 6:00PM Monday - Friday

How long have you been in radio: 28 Years
Career highlights:  Have Owned, Operated and Managed Radio Stations. On-air various formats - Talk radio is my favorite.

Best job:  The best - was the first. The thrill of my first full-time radio job (in Wenatchee, WA) stands out as the best. Simply because it was so exciting to be gainfully employed in the broadcasting field (I think it was $650 per month). It was love-at-first-mic. (wah wah wah wah)

Worst job: Stock room slave at Peoples Department Store - in the summer of 1976. Though I am still grateful to Mr. Fabian for giving me the job - as it was a good experience and made me appreciate every other job I've ever have in the future!

Fav movie: Raging Bull (I was a theatre projectionist when the movie came out - and I saw it 80 times. I still like it - so it must be my favorite).

Fav book: Currently, it's a book I'm re-reading entitled: "Father Arseny: Priest, Prisoner, Spiritual Father".   In the darkness of the harsh cruelty of the Russian gulag system, Father Arseny shone with the light of Christ's peace and compassion. This narrative tells the stories of people whose lives were touched and transfigured through their connection with him.

Fav website: FARK.com

Worst website: That's a little like asking about someone's least favorite grain of sand.

Fav food: Prime Rib (well-browned end-cut please)

Worst food: Succatash

Fav bands: Elvis Costello & The Attractions, The Dweebish Band, Green Day, Rampant Law.

Wife? Kids?: One wife - Lori, three children - daughters Emily, 17 and Tara 26 --son Casey 19 - one granddaughter - Anna, 4 1/2.

Pets:  TimmyTom & Jeff are cool cats and Chiquita is a loveable yet gender/species dysphoric Shih-Tzu.

Fav saying: "They ought to bring back the whipping post"! (my great grandmother - circa 1930)

Pet Peeve: When I order my Americano with "just a splash of cream" and the Barista hands me something that looks like a glass of goats milk. (no tip obviously).
